The All Progressive Congress in Kwara state has announced Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajulo -opin as its consensus candidate for the November 17 bye-election to fill the vacant Ekiti /Oke Ero / Isin and Irepodun Federal constituency.
The party made the announcement today in Omu-Aran, headqueters of Irepodun local government area of the State. after his affirmation by delegates from the 42 wards making up the Federal constituency supervised by the electoral panel chairman Dr Usman Zanna from Nasarawa state.
He commended the people of the constituency for their display of maturity and unity in selecting a consensus candidate, which is a pointer that the crises in the state chapter of the party is all but over.
He urged them to maintain the unity and work for the party to ensure that the candidate emerge victorious in the election.
The state chairman of the Honourable Bashir omolaja Bolarinwa said with the successful nomination of Ajulo opin as the party flag bearer the crises that bedevilled the party after the gubernatorial and national assembly primary election has been settled by the party.
He said the election is a test of the popularity of the party and a pointer to what will be expected in the general election in kwara state.
He equally said every one has queued behind the gubernatorial candidate of the party AbdulRahman Abdul Rasaq to ensure that the dream of the party taking over the Ahmadu Bello way government house in 2019 comes to fruition.
He reiterated that the party has also put in place mechanism to look into all aggrieved members and aspirants the party to ensure that their grievances is looked into.
In his acceptance speech Ajulo -Opin commended the party members and the people of the constituency for the opportunity given to him to represent the constituency and promised to give the constituency best representation in the national Assembly.
