…as Ajulo’s campaign train storms Isin today
The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour party in the 2015 general elections in Kwara State, Dr. Mike Omotosho yesterday threw its weight behind the House of Representatives bid of Alh. Raheem Olatunji Olawuyi yesterday (Sunday, November 11), this medium can report.
Omorosho popularly known as Omotohsure is currently a factional National Chairman of the Labour party.
It would be recalled rumours had been rife of the likely selection of Omotosho as the running mate to the APC’s gubernatorial flagbearer for the 2019 elections, Alh. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
While the Ekiti local government born politician hasn’t officially declared for the All Pogressives Congress, his recent appearance at the APC gubernatorial aspirant parley which held in ilorin shortly before the party’s primaries, have given a life of it’s own to the rumour of his likely switching camps from the crisis ridden Labour party to the APC.
Checks by this medium on Sunday, showed that no fewer than five 10 by 20 billboards in Irepodun, Oke-Ero and Ekiti LG’s were erected over the weekend soliciting for support and votes for Olawuyi (APC’s House of Reps candidate for the November 17, bye-election by Omotosho Support Group (OSG).
The billboards with the signature of Omotosho boldly written on it, has kept tongues wagging as to the motive for choosing to openly identify with the APC’s candidate even while still remaining the National Chairman of Labour party.
All attempts to get the reaction of Dr. Mike Omotosho proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the campaign train of the All Progressives Congress’s candidate will today visit major towns and villages in Isin local government area of the Federal constituency.
This much was disclosed to this medium by the aspirant himself in an exclusive chat with this medium
in Omu-Aran last night.
He said “We are not leaving anything to chances even though we are the candidate to beat, the momentum is ours. We however as it’s our usual practice even before the bye-election date was fixed will be touring the nooks and crannies of the Federal Constituency to interact with our people, have a firsthand knowledge of the challenges and potentials and above all sign a pact of commitment with the electorates.
“Ours won’t be a jamboree, with the level of neglect, abject poverty and infrastructural decay in our constituency, we are resolute towards kick-starting the ileri oluwa for our people and that’s why we’ll move from village to village soliciting support and votes, which will be held in trust” he stressed.
